MULTIPURPOSE AROMATIC BALM

I have thought of this recipe so that it nourishes us in depth. These days where we have to constantly wash our hands we feel them drier than ever! That's why this balm, made with fresh aromatic plants, cold-pressed oils, shea butter and essential oils, will deeply nourish the skin of our hands and the entire body ;)

PROPERTIES

Antiseptic, healing, vulnerating, anti-inflammatory, soothing, nourishing and softening.

MATERIALS FOR OIL MACERATING

  • 100gr Sweet almond oil first cold pressing.

  • 50gr of Macadamia Oil first cold pressing.

  • 20gr Olive Oil first cold pressing.

  • 30gr coconut oil first cold pressing.

  • Plants: Rosemary, Lavender and Thyme (best if fresh)

  • Bain-marie jug, strainer and gauze.

MATERIALS FOR THE AROMATIC BALM

  • Dark glass container (I used 50ml)

  • *5gr of beeswax or vegetable wax

  • 20gr of unrefined Shea Butter.

  • 10gt of Lavender Essential Oil, 10gt of Rosemary EO, 5gt of Eucalyptus EO and 5gt of Bitter Orange EO.

MULTIPURPOSE BALM RECIPE

*The final texture of this balm is not very hard since I like this texture, if you prefer a more solid balm you can increase the proportion of wax :)

STEPS TO FOLLOW

  1. Weigh all the oils for the oily mash and put them in a bain-marie resistant jug.

  2. Crumble the aromatic plants into the jar and place everything in a bain-marie.

  3. Leave over low heat (oils never have to boil) for about an hour.

  4. Remove the preparation from the bain-marie and let it cool.

  5. Weigh the wax and Shea butter and store in a bain-marie resistant jar.

  6. Once cold, strain the oily macerate preparation.

  7. Weigh 25g of the oily macerate and put it together with the wax and shea in a bain-marie until you obtain a liquid mixture.

  8. Remove from the water bath, add the essential oils, stir and transfer the mixture to your final container.

  9. Let cool until the mixture is completely solid. We will not have the final texture of the aromatic balm until after 24 hours.

I hope you like the recipe, if so, don't hesitate to share it!
