COLD BOTANICAL INFUSIONS

This week I teach you how to prepare and combine different aromatics, roots, fruits, seeds and flowers to get exquisite cold infusions loaded with properties for our body :)

botanical infusions

COLD BOTANICAL INFUSIONS will keep us hydrated all day and are a delicious drink for the hottest days when you don't feel like drinking hot infusions at all.

It is also a very good way to take advantage of fruits or vegetables that are “in bad condition” or the typical lemon that is forgotten in the refrigerator.

At the end of the post you will find the LINK to watch the video tutorial of these recipes

DETOX COLD INFUSION

In this infusion we will use mint which has digestive properties and helps us eliminate gases. Cucumber will help us detoxify and purify the entire body, cleaning our intestines and also helping to eliminate fluids. Lemon contains a lot of vitamin C, it is a great antioxidant that helps us eliminate toxins and is very cleansing. Finally, blackberries , loaded with vit C, are very interesting for external use (we can make a juice and apply it as a mask) since they are very emollient so in case of dermatitis and eczema they will calm our skin.

WE WILL NEED

  • A good handful of fresh mint

  • 1/2 cucumber with skin

  • 2ch of Turmeric or if you have it fresh 1/2 root

  • 1 lemon

  • Blackberries

STEPS TO FOLLOW

  1. Cut and put all the ingredients in a 1l/1.5l glass jug, fill with mineral water and stir.

  2. Let it marinate overnight in the refrigerator.

  3. The next day we can enjoy it, it will last 2-3 days maximum in the refrigerator.

ANTIOXIDANT COLD INFUSION

I think that of all this is my favorite infusion, the flavor of hibiscus with peach seems perfect and very refreshing!

Hibiscus flowers have diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties, they are very rich in antioxidants and contain mucilage, which is why in Mamita this flower is present in our Cleanser 1-007 for sensitive skin since they are emollients so they will hydrate and protect the skin.

The apple helps us regulate intestinal transit and is very rich in antioxidants. Peaches give us energy and have vitamin A, C and E, silenium and zinc. Vitamin A helps us protect our skin from the sun.

WE WILL NEED

  • 2ch (approx. per 1l/1.5l of water) Dried hibiscus flowers

  • 1/2 Apple with skin

  • 1 peach without skin

  • Citrus peel (in the video I use orange)

STEPS TO FOLLOW

  1. Cut all the ingredients and put them in a 1l/1.5l glass jug, fill with mineral water and stir.

  2. Let it marinate overnight in the refrigerator.

  3. The next day we can enjoy it, it will last 2-3 days maximum in the refrigerator.

STIMULATING JUG

If you need a little action or have had little sleep, this is your cold infusion!

WE WILL NEED

  • 2ch of black tea per 1/1.5l of mineral water

  • 2ch coconut flakes

  • Peel of an orange

STEPS TO FOLLOW

  1. Put all the ingredients in a 1l/1.5l glass jug, fill with mineral water and stir.

  2. Let it marinate overnight in the refrigerator.

  3. The next day we can enjoy it, it will last a maximum of 2 days in the refrigerator.

DIGESTION AND CLEANING INFUSION

In this jug we will use Hierba Luisa , an aromatic plant with an incredible aroma (I think it is one of my favorites along with Rosemary) that has digestive properties and helps us eliminate gases. Ginger digestive root and natural antibiotic that helps fight the infectious bacteria in our stomach and helps the good ones proliferate :) so our microbiota is happy!

And I use Borage flowers that contain a lot of mucilage so they will help us clean our intestine.

WE WILL NEED

  • Lemongrass (put a lot of it so it will be much more aromatic)

  • A generous piece of ginger

  • 1/2 cup of Borage flowers or 2ch of Chia/linseed.

  • citrus peels

STEPS TO FOLLOW

  1. Cut all the ingredients and put them in a 1l/1.5l glass jug, fill with mineral water and stir.

  2. Let it marinate overnight in the refrigerator.

  3. The next day we can enjoy it, it will last 2-3 days maximum in the refrigerator.
