HOW TO MAKE PLANT MACERATES IN VEGETABLE OILS

Plant Macerates in Vegetable Oils are used to extract the properties of plants into Oils. They are very useful in external applications. In this case, the plants that we will use will help us activate circulation and drain fluids from our body, so they will also help us eliminate cellulite.

PROPERTIES OF THE PLANTS USED

  • Rosemary : helps activate our circulation.

  • Birch : helps drain fluid retention and treats cellulite.

  • Dandelion : due to its richness in tannins, it will help us with circulatory problems.

  • Centella Asiatica : stimulates blood circulation. It is a diuretic, it promotes the elimination of fluids. Fight tired legs.

In this recipe we have 2 options, prepare the entire recipe in a glass container with one plant or with several plants. I will show you the two ways to do it.

RECIPE MACERATED WITH ROSEMARY

  1. Sterilize a glass container.

  2. The proportion of plant per liter of Oil is 1:5 so for 1l of Oil we will need 200g of dry plant . We will have to calculate our proportion, according to the capacity of our container.

  3. Once the plant has been weighed, we will put it inside the container and cover it with the Vegetable Oil, in this case, we will use Rapeseed Oil .

  4. Before closing the container, I always cover it with a vegetable paper filter or some cloth.

  5. Write on a label the plant/s that we have used, and the date.

  6. We will let the dry plants infuse in the Oil during a Lunar cycle (starting in the first quarter) which will be 28 days. It can also be prepared without following the lunar cycle, but we will have to macerate it for 40 days.

  7. The best time to prepare Macerados is when there are significant temperature changes between day and night. It is not advisable to prepare them in summer.

  8. Once the container is closed, we will leave it in a place where it gets sunlight, in my case, on the balcony. We will have to shake the mixture every 2 days.

  9. Once the time has passed, 28-40 days, we will have to strain the mixture. It is important to put cheesecloth in the strainer to prevent any pieces of plant from passing into our final oil, as it could spoil it.

  10. And we will have our Rosemary Oil ready, isn't it easy? I leave you some images so you can see the process well.

It is always better to keep the preparation in an amber glass container, so that it does not oxidize. It will last until the expiration date of the Vegetable Oil, but we can add vit.E for better conservation. If we smell a different smell when opening it, it means that the preparation has spoiled and will no longer be suitable for use.
